The pair spawned again on 1/17, only 5 days after their last spawn. This time they did it on the side of the flower pot. The eggs should hatch tonight if they are not eaten.
Lauren sry for the hi-jack it'll be brief:

"1/14 Sunday update: this morning when I got up all the eggs were gone!
The only reason I can think of is that there was a really bad thunder storm early this morning and the pair could be disturbed (my BF forgot to close the cover after the last feeding last night.)
Also, they ate their first spawn in the community tank, too. I guess this is something this pair must do when they first spawn in a new enviornment.
For now the only thing I can do is to cross my fingers and waiting for the next spawn. They spawn once every 7-10 days."
Mike - the situation sounds so familiar to your pair and yours was proven too remember?
Lauren - congrats and I think when they get all cozy and comfortable in your breeder tank they will not eat their eggs anymore.........might take a few tries though IMO.(Mike take notes here lol!)

Congrats! Next hatch I bet is even better.
There is nothing to match watching the parents now take care of them.
Truly amazing and why people get hooked even more.

Mine are being stubborn, they have not laid since. I may cover their tank for a while and see of that brings the breeding feeling back. Maybe too many pics too....I think mine may have been spooked by the photos.
Jan 22nd:
I woke up to see free swimmers this morning. There are only about 20-25 of them. The parents were busy catching these little guys and trying to put them back on the clay.
I fed the parents FBW and both of them were eating well.
Now the babies are practising attaching to their parents. Looks good so far.
Mike, Live blackworms REALLY trigger the spawn IMO. Why don't you give it a try? I purchase mine at LFS. They are expensive, but are parasite free freshly packed in breathable bags.

Thats awesome Lauren. You are so lucky. Cant wait to see pics of the fry.
I still havnt gotten past the egg stage. I have a clutch of eggs laid yesterday. Still brown, but they usually seem to get eaten during the night of the second day, so we will see tomorrow.
Mike: I find the cold water change ( just a few degrees less than the tank) and then a good bloodworm feeding sparks spawning. It usually does for my pairs.
Sincerely, Chris
Yeah, the cold water treatment is what I did last time when they laid eggs. I keep trying it but nothing for 9 days now.
I can't do this to my fish. I'm afraid of them getting cold. How did you manage to do it without making them sick? Isn't sudden temprature drop bad for the fish?

1/23: I'm not so lucky this time, either. All the free-swimmers were gone when I came home last night. I can't figure out what went wrong. I did a water change last morning and lowered the water to half. I noticed that the fry had problem attaching to the parents. Many of them were just hanging around on the bottom of the tank. The parents were constently collecting and putting them back to the side of the breeding pot. I thought they might got hurt because of that.
Well, I failed again, but won't give up!
