    Default QT for Rams

    Hi all,

I'm thinking about putting some rams into a discus tank. Of course, I'll QT the rams, but what about prophylactic medication (formalin, PraziPro and/or metro)? Some references I have say that rams are highly sensitive to chemicals, so I was wondering if precautionary medication might be unacceptable for them.

    Thanks,
    Jerry

    Jerry,

Personally I don't do prophylactic qt'ing. I prefer to observe and treat accordingly. The only exception is I used to treat with prazi, now switching to flubenol as its cheaper and seems to be safer and effective against a wider range. Both should be safe on Rams too.

    Comfortably numb.
