    Default Homemade Quick filter.

Hello all, just wanted to show my quick filter. I have a 30 gallon tank that I treated with PP and cleaned out. When I filled it with water I saw a bunch of white floating particles in the water. To get these out I took a micron filter from my Magnum 350, the bottom weight of a hydro sponge filter and a power head. Put it together just to see what happens and in less than an hour the tank is absolutely crystal clear.

    Troy,
Quite inventive of you! I would think you could try that same trick using a 5 micron RO pre-filter cartridge. Thanks for the tip.

using a micron filter will polish the water, but it will clog quickly if used continously.

Your idea is easier and way cheaper than theirs. Good job. I still have a bunch of Magnum filters around. i now have found a good use for them.

If you ever decide to get rid of them, please keep me in mind
