    Angry PYTHON PROBLEM!

    Hey guys ~

Last night during wc I noticed that my Python was leaking at the point on the pic shown ~ I was soooo annoyed as I know this hose so well and how to put it together!

I do add and take off the extensions depending on which room I am doing the wc ~ I took this section apart to empty some sand and ********...!! For some stupid reason it NOW leaks!! I know how to do it dayumit!

I know HOW to do it as I have done it hundred times so I have no idea why it leaks but I so cannot use it

I know the little black rubber washer thingy goes in the end that it is close to ...does it matter which way it goes in? I have tried it both ways oodles of times last night to no avail Still F* leaks man! What am I doing wrong here???

    AND....

For some reason it wont screw in all the way either now ~( there is no damage or anything dif on both ends either ) So I am thinkin that is why it leaks from that point

I am at a loss and hella pissed too!

Also...the black cover casings you see......what are those for?? Are they perhaps not in the right place? I always screw the up where they have always been so.....

    Someone please help me
    Marie ~

    Hi Marie
The black caseing things are screw on caps that hold the hose on and pinch it to create a seal. They may be loose. If so it will leak. Try to tighten them up alittle. The washer may be worn out but it looks ok in the pic. You could try some teflon tape on the threads if you have some. Hope this makes sense.

Marie.. I think what I would do is to just buy replacement parts. They sell em at just about every lfs. Hope you are feeling a bit better hun.

I am yes ~ sorry ~ It is leaking from the .....Tony if you look at the picture ...when you put those two parts together like they are suppose to BE...it leaks right from there! Does that make sense? And I just put it together again...and it is still leaking~

I am not doing anything any different I do not understand why it is leaking...

I wouldnt have replied if I didnt....

I think your talking about the threaded part? If so, the black washer is what keeps it from leaking...it looks like it in decent shape...but apparently not. Replace it...it just a common gardenhose washer. You could even try doubling the washers up if one new one doesnt do the trick.

Sorry Marie, I dont know why it is leaking. But my first python did the same thing where I would undo it all the time for different tanks. It is like the screw on parts (threads?) get worn down after time. They are plastic, after all. I would just buy the two parts that are the green and black ones and go with that. Any way to bypass that junction at all and put it together MINUS the part that is leaking???
Wish I knew sis. Hope you feel better.

Marie, I've never had, or used a Python before....so I'm guessing here.
Plus...I'm not really sure what the hell your talking about!

Its not screwing together as far as it did previously? If not, I'm thinking you might have it cross threaded and the washer isnt being compressed evenly, or at all.

If its not cross threaded, and the two surfaces that I've put arrows on touch when the threads are screwed tight, then yes it's the washer. Put a new one in, if that doesnt help, try two washers, If that doesnt help...throw the whole damn thing out the window and get drunk.

Did etr63 suggestions not work? They do have replacement parts at Petsmart or maybe Petco.
