Even before I saw the Rams hovering I knew who laid them. Congrats Marie!
btw where did you get that cool cave thingie?
Hey lookie what I just found!! At first I thought it was salt ....sure looks like it ~ but I never added it of course! They obviously won't hatch but will they just 'blow' away? I was snapping pics of this new substrate in this tank and I never noticed it in all the pics .... I don't think it was there when I started taking the pictures tho~
How Kool Yes? This is the first for me

Me too!! Ram eggs sis!!!! What else is in there??? The rams will most likely keep the discus away. But if there are other rams, they will prolly get eaten. Hope they stick around long enough to get freeswimming though!!!!
Way to go GRANDMOM!!!!
Marilyn
Actually my discus don't even notice the Rams eggs, but EVERYONE else does, the cories, plecos, and clown loaches all line up just waiting for them to finish. <sigh>Originally Posted by marilyn1998

Awesome, but prepare to get used to seeing eggs!! They lay eggs like crazy about every 10 days. They are such fun to watch. It would be so awesome if you got parent raisers!!

Sis,
They can survive if you dont have any other rams. They will take the freeswiimers inside the cave. They like to lay on flat surfaces, or dig a hole in the substrate.
Seems they are telling you they like their new digs!!!! My rams eventually ate the eggs. Like other kinds of fish, it usually takes some time for them to learn how to care for them. But you are on your way!!
And they get mean when they are in the family way, so to speak. They are cichlids!
Marilyn
Now's the time to move the other rams to another tank; see how just the pair does by themselves and the discus.
And maybe the two of them being so mean, they could turn out to be awesome parents.

Hi Marie - just got home friend...got your message of course thanks for sharing your eggs with me LOL...Originally Posted by Kindredspirit
Marie, I don't know if it's because of the pics or not(probably not I think), but it looks like that batch of eggs might have been laid for some time and they've been fungused or something(see the white stuff?) Regardless now that "love is in the air" if this batch doesn't make it you should see another one in a few days. No biggies!
Congratulation on being now a rams breeder & later a discus breeder LOL! Get yourself as many tanks as your office space would allow!
