New to the discus scene! Have kept freshwater for years, had a cichlid breeding colony for close to 4 years. I am going to be converting the 55 gal and the 40 gal that I have to a display/sump system. I am looking forward for all of your input, and thanks for the welcome!!

When you say "breeding colony" I'm guessing you are talking about Rift Lake Cichlids?

No, actually it's because I will have 80 gallons of water running through a 55 gallon display. I'm setting up a sump system in a 40 gallon tank below my 55 for filtration! As some have read in my other post up in the DIY section.
