Members can view the picture, read the posts but NOT comment..only Moderators and University staff can comment. Everytime we open the section fully, people have a hard time following the rules and turn it into a chat section.

Ps.. The fish doesn't suck.. but the picture on the other hand.... we need a better picture..that fish is too blurry and the image under exposed... can you do better?

Its not the best picture, but from what I can see it looks to be a reasonable PB to me, not greaat there are one or two small flaws. The nose looks to have a small dent on it, the dorsal and anal fin both look as though they start further back than I like. Also the anal fin looks to be shallower than the dorsal, ideally they should have the same depth. There seems to be a little peppering in the middle of the dorsal too, though not bad. Its difficult to asses the eye fully due to the pic, but it looks round and about the right colour for a PB, but possibly a little dark. The patterning around the penduncle lets the fish down a bit as its not even. Difficult to asses the size but I would guess in the region of 5" SL.

Naming of discus is one of those areas that at times drives me nuts, as far as I'm concenered its a decent PB and worth hanging onto.

I do not know tha age..I got it this size with another one that was even bigger..but her mate commited fishicide. (Rammed glass then floated up)

Would a side shot be the best?

SL means Standard Length, ie measured from the tip of the nose to the penduncle or start of the caudal (tail) fin.

TL means total length, tip of nose to end of tail.

try increasing the resolution of your camera as well.. The image you are uploading is 27KB.. you can go up to 85 kb in size.

Sorry, but there is nothing I like about the fish. Poor shape, dorals starts too far back on the forehead and not in harmony with the anal fin. Weak chin and breast area. If this discus were entered in a show, I would elimenate it during the initial look/walk through without judging it.
