Thanks for all the replies. I have been really having a ball with all the babies (70 Golden x Turk and about 60 MP x Golden). I thought I might run out of room for all the little ones so I went and bought a 120 gallon high to set up for them. I have it set up and all the Golden/turk fry are in it right now. I was thinking of putting the MP/golden fry in there also but think I will use my 125 gallon for them instead. The MP and Golden pair have given me another smaller batch (about 30 fry) and they seem to be doing great. The hopefully second pair with the Male and Female Goldens were moved to their own 29 gallon five days ago and when I checked on everyone this morning I found a decent sized clutch on the side of the tank. When I get home tonight I will dose with Meth Blue and time will tell if it was a successful spawn. The female has never had wigglers before and the Male is a very proven father.
When I started with the first turks I had I could never get the babies this far along. They would all start to die suddenly and a bunch at a time. So far all these new fry seem to be healthy and fat. I noticed some of the fry were breathing faster than normal the other day, so I dosed with Quick Cure for a few days and they are back to normal again. Thanks for listening to me ramble. I am just having so much fun with them right now.
Brian, I will have some babies for you in a month or two if you want some. Come on over and pick some out for yourself. Its the least I can do.
The only question my wife has about all this is what am I going to do with all the babies when they get bigger ?? I suggested more tanks in the house but she didn't agree with me LOL ?? I guess I will figure that out when the time comes. Thanks again.
