Barb, they are also sold thru the Otto site, but I had to google otto aquarium for the site address. (in case angelsplus doesn't ship to Canada).

So if I have a failed Pro Heat heater, can I rig one of those ottos up to it... after splicing and dicing?

Depends on what failed on the heater, I guess. I've never spliced and diced and only used the Ottos to control a heater that was not keeping the temp stable, so it was only their thermostat that was not working properly. If splicing and dicing can create a fire hazard, I wouldn't go there...

OK, so they say the price will be adjusted to 1/2 when placed? As I placed my order, all charges were full price, even through processing. Is this what you saw?? Did you order on-line or on the phone?

Online order! I also emailed them regarding the 50% off. Them said in their email that they are 50% and the invoice will be adjusted. Perhaps they have to do it manually or something.

Did they say how many they have left ? I might be interested in 4-5 of them. Thanks.

BTW As Brian has posted, I used the Jalli 1000 temp controllers. I have just had my third one go goofy. My LFS replaced the other two that went bad but 3 out of 6 leaves me fealing pretty cautious.

I knew I should not have waited so long. Now that I want to get a Otto controller, AngelsPlus doesn't sell them anymore. Instead of $15, I have to pay around $30 or so at other locations.

Try the main page. Ottos are still 50% off.

The only draw back I have with the ottos is that you cant calibrate them at all unlike the Ranco controllers. Well, another draw back is max wattage is only 500W which I already blew the fuse on one of my controllers. Oops!

Id actually recommend the ranco controller from jehmco ETCI-1 or ebay.

    Search for ranco.

Thanks. What kind of calibration will the controllers need? I would assume that you just set the desired temp and the controller would determine when to turn on/off the heater according to the temp.

So far my Otto's are working perfectly, although I'm only running 200 watts through them...

Eddie, try this link. Like we said earlier, all Otto's are 50% off, which makes them $15.50...
