Hi,
I am one of the few that advocate planted tank for discus,
Can you please give us bit more information on,
1. What is the subtrate you using.
2. What is your fertilizer schedule. (which ferts)
Any information which can help get your kind of success.
Thank you in advance.
Amol
Hi Amol, here is some information.
Subtrate: ADA aqua soil (Amazonia), ADA bright sand.
The tap water in my city is pretty hard, usually around ph 7.8, ADA aqua soil does a great job for lowering ph to 6.8.
Fertilizers:
-Weekly: 12.5ml of Tropica MasterGrow
-daily: 20ml of Florish Excel (DIE BBA!!!!! )
Illumination: T5 54WX4 (6500K and 10000K), 9 hours per day.
I am thinking about to increase it to 12 hours tho.
Thank you for the information.
Great tank, post some more pics when you can.
Where did you get your discus? Old ones / new ones? Did you get them all from the same source? Very impressive tank btw.
what kind of lights do you have. I am wondering whats bringing that bluish tone out?
Thank you,
Amol
That is one spectacular looking Planted Discus tank! Congratulations on a JOB WELL DONE!
One question... did you mention the size of the tank? If so, I missed it - would love to know.
Either way though - GREAT JOB!
