    Default 1 year later

Ok its almost 1 year later.

I have grown out my discus from feb. there almost 1 year old. most are 6 inches. The tank still gets 40% water change ever other day.

i got a clipping of a spider plant in the tank. I also have this one plant that ls a cylinder shape just floating around.

I have a peace of drift wood thats been bleached. It sat in hot water for a couple days. Is it ok to put the wood in the tank and let is slowly sink?

Then next month I'm going to get silica sand and clean it then slowly plop it into the tank.

    Any thoughts comments?

No because its a 4inch mandarin passion.

Had them a whole year and they never grew at all. the turq and the 2 blue diamonds are 6"

Thank you Chirohorn its nice of you to say that. the one discus that is the most beautiful is the big turq Hes fought everything hand in hand. I really not proud of this batch cause the blue diamonds have divots in there eyes, poor stock I got. But the blue diamond is amzing I love that fish.

I have been looking for a couple but can't find any blue diamonds I like.

OK since I put the drift wood in the discus like it and sleep in its little crevices And they like it so far. And the plants that are in it are growing like crazy.

The one thing I'm worring about is why is my mandarin passion hiding behind it?
He comes out and east. But I'm worried that in time he will always hid like he did when I first got him. Are some strains more of a hiding type then other?

Hi Arch.. I have heard that with some discus, if you give them a place to hide.. then they will hide. Or perhaps he is a little stressed with the additions to the tank. Just give him some time. Hes still eating ok so I say just keep a close eye on him for right now

Yeah I had planted tanks before I had the discus. What a huge mistake. So thats why I'm slowly adding things. Like I added the plants just 6 stem plants witch grow like weeds. they where cool with it. they checked it out and all that.

2 weeks later I added the wood. And now they sleep beside it like if they where in the wild they are not ski dish and they all eat. I guess I just worried to much. Now the sand wont be going in for maybe 1-3 weeks depends when i get money and they time to clean it.

    Thank you for your postings.

Hello everyone I have finally finished my fish tank stand. its nothing to crazy just simple and well its the beginning of better tank stands.

I designed it on autocad then applied my knowledge of architecture to my new fish tank stand.

I also am posting pics of my now adult fleet of discus. Hope you enjoy.
