Hi Jim,
Try any specialist Koi equipment supplier, they will have the required water-proof paint (or tell you where etc!).

Hello All,
I am starting a project to build my own plywood aquarium with a Plexiglas front. I got the instructions from the Garf web site. I am not able to find the required two part epoxy paint that is required to seal the inside of the aquarium. I’ve check two major hardware stores and called a few local paint stores who are not aware of my requirements.
Should I call a plumbing outlet?
Any suggestions please.
Thanks,
Jim

I found a local dealer doing a serch on "industrial coatings". He has something called "Bar Rust 233" and he thinks it's drinking water safe. Has anyone heard of this product?

If you have a Sherwin Williams store near you they have 2 part epoxy enamel that can come in any color. I have used it on plywood tanks for 30+ years.
I think the co is in Florida no clue how close to you.

I was thinking of doing one of this so I have researched it a bit, there are other epoxy brands out there if I find them again I'll post them

I got it at the local paint store. They call it bath tub paint. You will need quite a few coats to get a good finish. If you have mixed a bit too much in between coats, store the mix in the freezer. It stops the hardening process.

I haven't used any of them, its up to you to research them

I have gotten the two part epoxy from Aquatic Ecosystems in the past. I highly recommend the company. The epoxy is easy to work with. I could not find on GARF's site how to attach plexi to the plywood....Silicone will not stick to plexi....
FYI...make sure you get Cell Cast Acrylic.
Post photos... I plan to build a 500 gallon tank once I get back from my field season in Colombia, S.A.
