    Default 0 nitrates????

    just tested my 75 gallon and 0 nitrates???? hmmm it's decently heavily planted and it's been cycled.... i wonder if the Eheim Efisubstrat Pro has something with it.... does this stuff denitryfy????? how much.... i pretty much have a 2028 full of the stuff

    if it stays at 0 for a while longer time for more discus....
    (there's 6 4-5 inchers in there now)

    I'd bet you accidently double dosed the #1 reagent and never added #2.....

    I'd bet you accidently double dosed the #1 reagent and never added #2.....

    lol API nitrate... 10drops and 10 drops... been using the stuff for years

    There is your answer, the plants will be using the nitrates faster than they are produced.

    Not sure it does, I use this stuff myself and see nates....

    As long as you have a decent flow of water through the filter there'll be no de-nitrification.

    Between the plants using the NH4 before the bacteria get it and then using the NO3 in the end it's not overly surprising that there wouldn't be a readable NO3 level

    I'm sure you guys are better versed in this but its hard for me to imagine that there are enough plants in a 75 to zero the bio-load of 6 discus that size....
