Yes I'd like to know as well. What are some cool bottom feeders that are compatible with discus? And I don't mean cory and bristlenose and oto.
Was curious if everyone uses bottom feeders and reasons for and against using them. Im thinking of adding however my discus have a tendency of attacking anything i put in the tank.

I keep loaches [botias] of various kinds and they help clean up anything on the substrate; never had an issue with them and the discus by the way.

I use Corydoras in all my tanks appart from the breeding tanks. They are really good at their job & are quite placid. I also use sucker catfish for algae problems. But they can be oppertunists if you have a sick fish. Attacking to their side etc. HTH.

I usually do, but I just got these discus in Dec and Jan and just have not bought any yet. I think that when they are fully grown and I replant my tank... I will probably get some
I just have tetras as tankmates right now.

Proud single working mother of three.
All the Hypancistrus species of plecos, Panaque L204 and Peckoltia L134 Leopard frog pleco do very well with discus. They stay small, need the same warmth and eat the same foods. I have never seen any sign of these plecos bothering Discus. I have groups of ten species and lot's of Discus and I keep them in all but spawning tanks.

I love cories, but I don't really need them thanks to my albino bristlenose plecos. They keep my tank spotless and they love everything I feed to the discus. They have worked out well for me.
I always keep at least one bushy nose in all but the spawning tanks for my primary algae eater. I like the warm water small fancy plecos rather than Corydoras in my planted discus tank. Between the two types they do better than Corys for a clean up crew. Bushy noses alone suffice just fine. It is a happy coincidence for me that the little fancy plecos I like do so well with discus.

I have clown loaches in my community tank with discus as the clean up crew and they work well and get on very will with the discus.

what would you guys recommend as far as bottom feaders for 35 hex with a splash of gravel, driftwood and plastic plants. I currently have 4 discus and 9 cards. I would prefer something that doesnt get very large at all.
I perfer clown loaches as I have gravel in the bottom of my display tank and do not have an algae problem but they would get to big for the tank you have as they like to be kept in group (no less than 5). Perhaps a couple of bristle nose cats they don't get to big as you have a lot in your 35 hex already.
Cheers

yep
I also prefer 2 bristle nose plecos per 50 gallons...
