    Default HI from Chino hills CA

    HI everyone,
    newbie on discus.
    100 gal tank with goldfish before.
    restocked with 3 discus 2.5 inches.
    trying to learn how to raise a discus.

    Welcome to the forum Peter, I hope the 3 discus in a 100 gal tank isn't all that you have in there. I would have a minimum of 10 of them in that tank.

    100 gallons for 3 juvies is not likely a recipe for beginners success with discus.

    If you have a smaller tank, say 20-30 gallons, that would suit grow out better for 3 small discus.

    Or, add some more juvies (after QT) of a similar size to the 100 gallon tank.

    Still considering if i'll put alot of plants or more fish. haven't decided yet.i like the idea of more plants. but i need the low maintenance set up. can't afford the co2 kit. been reading the forum about the plant and discus. starting to make me cofuse. i'll be posting on what decision i'll make
