Interesting idea, Bob. Never thought of using that, but I am using contact paper that I attached to oak tag. I like your idea though and I think I'll try it soon. Is it just the clear stuff or do they come in colors? Where do you get it?
Hello All. Has anyone used cling on privacy films for their backgrounds ? Im contemplating and looking for some feedback from those that have.
Thanks
Bob

Connie,
I have a 125 with the contact paper attached right to the tank...it works great and comes off easily as well.

Yes Al, now that you mention it, I see what it could look like. I actually tryed the contact paper and what a pain to get all the air bubbles out to get a nice solid look. Ive got 45 feet of white and 45 feet of light blue sitting here. Its just to hard to get it to look good with the tanks filled and in place. I was thinking about the frosted type of film which comes with different designs and yes it does come in different colored patterns. It clings to the glass without any adhesive, somewhat like those peel and stick decorations you put on your windows or doors for different holidays. If anyone out there has used it let me know and if I do I'll take some pics.

Hi Connie. I forgot to mention that you can get it at Home Depot, Lowes or even Ebay. Ebay is your best bet because there is a big selection of colors and patterns.

I picked up a roll of window tint film that is supposed to have a mirrored affect that I plan on using on my 75. I had a mirrored background on my 55 and really liked it and the fish didn't seem to mind after they got used to it. But the problem i had with that one was the fact that it was a tape on milar film that discolored when it got wet.
This window tint film goes on without adhesive also and it can be removed fairly easily, (as opposed to paint etc.) also you can get colored films that can be used with it.
Now I just need to find the time to drain the tank and move it away from the wall long enough to apply it.
