I wouldn't get too excited about it as all it is ...is a basic dirt cheap de-chlor ...sodium thiosulfate...

Jeep, how many gallons of tap water will the Genesis gallon jug treat ? I have chloromines instead of chlorine. Does it work on that as well ? Thanks

Not Jeep but, Sodium thiosulfate will not bind up the ammonia in chloramines..............

Enough to last a very long time

I did a quick search online for it and some places say it handles chlorine and cholormines and some only mention chlorine. Which is for real ?? Thanks

Actually even the AP web site is confusing...

One statement says....''....It also controls the ammonia released from chloramine during the de-chlorination process.....''' controls how??, as ST will not bind up ammonia. The only other ingredient in it is ACRIFLAVINE HYDROCHLORIDE and I don't believe that it's an ammonia binder

Then is says....''...Conditions water by neutralizing any chlorine in the solution....'' no mention of chloramines at all and that's usually a good marketing tool

Then it states ...''...Genesis helps condition aquarium water by neutralizing harmful chlorine and chloramine found in tap water....''

So which is it, you'd never know by reading thier info page. Personally I wouldn't use it for binding chloramines...leave that to products like Amquel and Prime
