Glad to hear that your surgeries went well and that you are on the mend. Hopefull all will work out with fuel prices, and that you can get out for a fish soon. I know what you mean....it all adds up
    Cheers.

I love fishing. My dad made me build my first rod and dragged me down the beach at 3 in the morning. Will have to sort out some photos. I love fishing for Murray cod in my local favourite river. This year my strike rate is really high 4 trips 3 Cod. My best effort a 30pound monster its head was bigger than mine, never weighed him but he was atleast 70cent long Not many people know how good the fishing is here and I keep it that way. I also love fishing for Tailer of the rocks. A 5kilo jewie of the rocks is my best rock fishing. Have caught big trout to, havent caught a big one on fly yet though. I know im bragging but good fisherman are allowed to. When I get my own boat Im shore ill get a marlin just dont like going out in other peoples boats so I havent done much ofshore fishing.

Thats a good size murray cod. I would love to see any pics you may have.
We come through Canberra, when we head to Bateman's Bay with the boat in tow to get our yearly marlin fix. Though the last couple of trip we've headed further north to Jervis Bay. Certainly some great fishing opportunities up your way, but don't know of any in Canberra. Well kept secret

Just got back from a few days fishing for tuna at Portland, about a 5 hour drive from where l live.
We heard that Albacore Tuna were being caught, and all l can say is that they don't call them the 'Chicken of the sea' for nothing. Had some for dinner tonight and can highly recommend it.
My son caught his first Blufin tuna as well weighing aroung 15kg. Always good spending time on the water, but when one of your kids outfish you.....well that's priceles.....though l did have to put up with all the stirring the whole 5 hours trip back home.

Hope you enjoy some photos from our trip

50km run out to the spot in awesome conditions....also priceless

My son Mathew's first Blufin Tuna

    My nephew with an Albacore

Yours truely with a small albacore...best eating size

Lures that worked on the day

    Buisy at the cleaning tables

    Standing room only

these wind generators are scattered all along the coast, but lucky for us wind was down to a mininum for our trip

The major difference is that the albacore have very long pec' fins, which nearly looks like wings on a plane or bird. On Blufin tuna the pec' fins are very short...take another look at the pics
Hope you make it on the river, and good times with you dad.

How fun! I've only been out fishing on the ocean one time and it was a blast.

I fish Lake Michigan a lot and some of the inland rivers in Illinois.

    Here's a couple decent fish.

Nice fish atitagain!...Like the last pic of the Steelie. I love the cold water Salmon/Trout/Steelhead fishing. Tho I mostly beat the shoreline, I do get out on a Kayak trolling/casting around. I love "Brownies", and these two were my biggest so far...Bill

Very nice browns. Let me know if ever you want to head North to get out.

    I slip in Waukegan.

This is a brown from the Root River, a stones throw from the weir.

No pics but I pulled in 2 of the 4 albacore caught that day. There were also a bunch of rock fish, 2 really big blue lings and a halibut. Really great day. Off the nor-cal coast around shelter cove mendocino.

Yes, I do like fishing. Fly-fishing both fresh and saltwater. Tie my own flies.
