EH! lets get back onto fishing then. As l mentioned in my first post l am now into tagging and releasing marlin, but sometimes that does not always come to plan. In the first photo you will see a tag in a Striped marlin l caught. After wee tagged it it took of really deap again and died.
The second photo is of my brother's first marlin he caught on his ever first trip with me, and wanted to cast a mould of it for mounting. I'm the 'Crazey Nut' on the left.
The last photo is of how we fight fish 'Stand Up'. This is my preferred way to catch marlin, but sometimes have to use the game chair.

Just got back from yet another marlin fishing trip....but this one was very special for me as l took my 14 year old son Mathew with me to have a chance at battleing with a marlin for the first time.
We tagged and released 3 striped marlin ranging from 70kg to 110kg, and yes, Mathew caught the largest one. It took him nearly an hour to get it with in reach of the tag pole. Let me just say that he was over whelmed by the whole experiance...and l was very proud.

Flying out to The Gold Coast in Queensland tomorrow morning, and will be fishing for Blue Marlin, which are hanging about there at the moment. Hope to come back with a good report and some photos to show you.

Just got back from my trip, but didn't get onto any Blue Marlin that l was chasing, but caught a few nice Mac Tuna.
The trip was not a total loss, as l also caught up with my Daughter, and Grand daughter.

Pictured below is my son in law Aaron, with his very first tuna, on his first game fishing trip.
We ventured out about 40nm this particular day a travelled approx' 100nm for the day in a 23ft centre console boat...let me just say we got very wet coming in some rough weather.

Hi guys!
Just thought l'd share this 5 minute clip l put together of my latest fishing trip in Queensland.
Did both freshwater and saltwater fishing.
The main objective was to catch a juvinille black marlin out of Townsville at Cape Bowling Green on 6kg Tackle.......it did not quit work out with the ending l was wishing for....But boy did l have a great time.....theres something about QLD'er hospitality.

Hi Darren. No bill fish down here in Melbourne mate so l got to keep comming up that way for them....Maybe l should move up there!
I will be back in Cairns from the 26th of Sept through till 14 October. Fishing Lizard Island...but not the 'billfish Challenge'. That tournament is HUGE!!!!
Maybe next year.

I just got back from a 15 day trip on Moana II out of Cairns in Queensland. We fished along the Great Barrier Reef all the way up to Lizard island. Had a fantastic time, not only fishing but also swimming with whale sharks. I've put together a few little clips which gives you a bit of an idea of what l have been up to.

It was great being in Queensland again where the only item of clothing needed is a pair of shorts, tee shirt, and sunglasses. Boy l would love to move up there for good one day!!






One of the highlight for me on this trip was swimming with two whale sharks on the same day.
