Thermometers and heater...SOS

I put 4 thermometers in my tank and got 4 different readings from 82 -88f. My heater is set at 85f amd it`s a new 3608 Jager. Now I don`t know what to do.The outside of the tank does feel very warm.

Get a "fever" thermometer. They are ussualy very accurate. Make sure it reads down in th 80's. Don T.

Any chance of getting hold of a laser thermometer? A mate of mine has access to one for work and it's stupidly accurate.

What is the average temp of the thermometers? 3 at 82 and one at 88 would come out at 83.5 while 3 at 88 and one at 82 would be 86.5. Have you tried measuring the temp of known temp items. Ice water should be at 0C and boiling at 100C I'm not sure of Imperial equivalents of the top of my head.

I set them all next to our room theremometer and only 2 were correct. I just bought al of them a couple weeks ago. Ughhhhh !
