Macropodus opercularis, better known as paradise fish is one of zhe oldest aquarium fish. The combination of them with discus would be one of the worst ones: they come from south China and are actually a coldwater species, while discus loves higher temperatures. They are quite boisterius also, so that is another great drawback, why not mixed with discus.

the lfs said it was just like a gourami and i should have no problems with it
its a good thing i trusted my gut
i put it on hold while i did my homework
well thankx for the info
i swear sometimes the lfs will say anything to sell a fish or product

lol..i find they are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more aggressive than gouramis...they love the eyes of fish too..and they would probably nip the hell out of discus
