Default frozen blood worms stay on top of water

hi i feed my discus frozen blood worms and i just throw in a frozen cube of food.

my leapords dont peck at the cube so they let it melt a little but there is a lot of food that stay on the surface of the water instead of sink to the bottom of the water
    how do i prevent this?

melt the worms first before giving it to my discus?

    any tips

I let them thaw a couple minutes in a cup of tank water and then pour in. They sink right to the bottom and my discus attack them!
