    Default I've lost one.

It's the 27th of February, and things are not good.
About a week ago my discus in the challenge tank went completely off their food, and huddling in a corner of the tank. what stressed me the most though was when they would get starled and smash into all sides of the tank at high speed. I also noticed that some would sometimes line their selves up and flick their gill against the air line.
Water parametres were all good, and still maintaining 50% water changes. I stopped putting food in their tank, and only put in tiny bits to see if they would touch it. Occassionaly they would.
Since they had not been treated for worms l thought that this may be the problem, and treated the tank with 'Aquamaster Fluke & Tapeworm tablets', dosage of 1 tablet per 20 litres of water, diluted first in a dissposabe cup, and left for 48 hours in the tank.
They were looking a little bit better yesterday afternoon and swiming around their tank, picking up bits of pellets l had in there, and thought that they were on their way to recovery.
To my horror, this morning l found the smallest one dead on the bottom of the tank. The others are lookng the same as yesterday.
I'm hopeing they wil look even better once l've done their water change a little later.
All l can say is that l am devistated.

    Thanks Eileen and Darren.
The ones in the planted tank are doing alot better than the ones in the challenge tank at the moment. They are eating really well, and keeping up with the other discus l have in there.
I'm sure that things will come good in the challenge tank....but, l'm hopeing sooner than later.
    Thanks for your support guys.

Hi Jose. Not much better at the moment. I've just finished doing my dayley water change, and hope to see some improvement this afternoon or tommorrw. They still thrash around in the tank sometimes which is a great concern. Might try putting in some salt tomorrow. That might help calm them down a bit.

    Oh bummer Joe !
I know that's got to be dissapointing. But the majority have done so well, so far. And they look awesome. Keep up the good work.
You know how those Discus can be.

Joe, if they weren't sick it could be due to the separation of the other guys...they just might be feeling a little timid seeing some of their friends gone and it's why they are swimming erratically due to feeling unsecure. The dead one might have dashed himself into the glass(just a guess). Try to raise the temp to be about 90F and stop feeding them for a day. This has worked for me in the past see if it may work for yours.

Hope they'll rebound very soon Joe.

Thanks for the heads up Kevin. That's the worst part....not knowing whats wrong with them.
Thanks Kenny, l shall try that. I think you're right about it getting itself knocked out, poor thing.
    B. It is very disapointing, I hope that they will return to good form soon.
Thanks Marie, I wish l had your confidence.
