well i can say from my experience
i have a few pristella tetras in my discus tank and they are pretty hardy
i even just swapped tanks and didnt lose any tetras

As the title says... Pristellas and Discus. Good, bad, indifferent? A search for "pristella" only gets three hits. I like the Pristellas, colorful, active, hardy. Would they be good tankmates for 5 or 6 Discus in a 90 gallon? I'm thinking maybe 10 Pristellas, 6 Discus, 5 or 6 cory cats, and maybe some Harlequin Rasboras. All opinions welcome, including those that disagree!

I had a school of golden Pristellas. They seemed fine at the higher temp. But one female got eggbound and died. Then the rest of the school started to drop off one after another. This was after approx 6 months.
Meanwhile, the cardinals continue to do well. So I don't think it has to do with water quality.

Pristella is probably are not the best suited species to live at Discus temps but the list of suitable species is very long.
Which Tetras to choose comes down to your favorites among the warm water loving species.
A few of my favorites are:
Black Phantoms
Silver Hatchets
Pencilfish (many to choose from)
Diamond Tetras
Rummy Nose Tetras
Bleeding Hearts
I don't personally think Cardinals are as well suited to Discus temps but probably many will disagree.
It has always seems to me like the "Cardinals with Discus" keepers buy a lot of Cardinals to keep up their numbers. That seems like a clue to me.
Tetras are something of a hobby of mine and I find the vast majority of them do best when kept around 78*F to 80*F and that includes my list of choices to keep with Discus. I stopped doing it myself.
