Just in case you don't know where to find the two mentioned above, they are in this forum's sponsor session. You only hear good things about them.

Where are you located? It's a wonderful thing to go pick out your own discus; also important to build relationships with experienced hobbyists and/or breeders if possible, for those inevitable times you have a question or a situation. We have a sponsor section, which has already been mentioned, with people all over the US--if there is a reliable source near you, you would do well to skip the shipping, at least for starters as you are learning the hobby. Some of the new [and expensive] strains are a bit fussier to work with and some of the more classic older strains seem to be stronger and more forgiving of a newbie's attempts--I would suggest buying solid reliable stock and start with perhaps turqs, pigeons?

    Ditto!

    Welcome to "SD"!

Take a look at the sponsor section an decide for yourself which one you would like to buy fish from. If you cant find one close enough to you, most of them will gladly ship.

I personally wouldn't buy any fish unless it was from one of the sponsors here.

I agree with Mark-the sponsors here are keeping the site free, providing help raising the discus(when needed)-not to mention have beautiful/healthy fish!
I've received fish from Kenny's Discus & was very satisfied with fish & customer service
