We are happy to announce the


1st Philippines National Discus Competition


Goals:

• Provide a venue for the community of discus hobbyists here to showcase
their fish to fellow hobbyists and to the public, and consequently encourage better quality of care and improve local breed standards.
• Promote discus and fish keeping as a worthwhile and rewarding hobby to the general public.


Schedule
September 24-26, 2008

Venue: Cartimar Shoping Center

Events
• Discus Competition including a photo contest for Filipino discus hobbyists abroad.
• Exhibits of other popular tropical fish, planted aquariums and major sponsor’s corner showcasing the different available products for hobbyists.
• Special activities like Seminars/Hands-on Demonstration for hobbyists and mall visitors, Product Demonstrations by the major sponsor, fun activities for children and mall clients and an open forum with the discus experts.

Categories:

Senior Division
Class 1 for solid strains greater than 4.5 inches in size
Class 2 for spotted strains greater than 4.5 inches in size
Class 3 for patterned and striated strains greater than 4.5 inches in size
Class 4 Open Category

Junior Division
Class 5 for solid strains 3.5 to 4.5 inches in size
Class 6 for spotted, patterned, striated strains 3.5 to 4.5 inches in size

Awards and Prizes
Overall Best of show
First and Second Prize for each Class

Cash prizes for each to be announced later.
