You are kidding right?? How long have you kept discus now?

I agree with you Bill P, this fish does not look very well. The second video is of the same fish and the more it recovers the lighter the color is getting. Victor Hugo said he will update video again. I'm betting on a blue if it survives. Bill T.

It seemed to have alot of black in the clear fins. Maybe too much to just chock it up to being due to illness alone. I agree, it doesn't look like it's a healthy specimen, and I'm certainly not buying their claim outright. I wonder if it might be color treated somehow. If not, why are the clear fins black?

If people like that "black" fish, just save your money... Unplug your heater and filters, add cold, chlorinated water straight from the tap , feed sparingly, if at all, forego any future water changes and just sit back and enjoy the "new" color of your fish...and you too will have wonderful fish like in that video...maybe even better!...Bill

That is simply a sick fish on utube. period. Why are people wasting their time on it? It is not black. It is dark brown.

You guys that want a black discus listen up. I've just developed a new elixir that when put in your tank will turn your discus black! All you need to do is send me $19.95 and I'll ship you 20 oz of my "Mystery Snake Oil". This is enough to turn ALL of the discus in your tank black!

Unfortunately to many LFS are selling Black discus already, and that's why people think discus are hard to keep, they take these already sick fish home and they die.At least discus let you know when there sick alot of other fish just drop dead.I would definately stay away from any dark looking Discus and be very suspicous of anyone telling me it's a new strain.

Reminds me of an exchange I had with a young girl working in the aquatics dept of our local PetsMart.
They had in a pair of adult discus in their multi tank setup that were huddled in the corner and jet black. I brought it to her attention, and she declared with enthusiasm..
"Aren't those fish amazing? They do that right before they change colors!"
As I walked away I said, "No they do that right before they die"

are you looking for a black discus?

Honest with you i saw some black discus they were very health no sick, they were swimming around and eatting like pig. I know for sure that is pigeon blood gene. I saw one of my location discus breeder he made half black discus with yellow or orange body.

I have some black peppering discus they are about 80 percent soild black. they are very health fish.

I would like to put picture of my black peppering discus with nice red eyes to post here but my pictures are too large for this site.

I dont know if i should keep to breed them i could make almost solid black discus.

I seen the movies and I think its brown a really dark brown because the fact when you look at the clear movie, it turns facing its side and its a brown. Its stressed Id assume to, but I'm not an expert.

The other thing is If they did make black discus id want a solid with red eyes.
