29 Gal for 2 wild alenquer~

is it too small? i only have that 2 alenque in there with a couple of small bottom feeders.
it's a 29 gal tank. the alenques are about 6.5"

I think so... I would get at least a 55gal, especially since they are that size. The smaller the tank the faster and the more the water will deteriorate, especially if you feed them "the mix" for Discus. Even with daily water changes 29 gal is too small...

for a pair, then not bad. it's 30" long, right?
if not a pair, one may bully another a lot.
I perfer a 36" long 33 gallon tank for a pair of adults.
wild discus swim a lot more than domestic

they are a pair.. it's just that......... i think my husband will "kill" me is i get another tank... so i guess for now they'd have to stay there~ he's going on a biz trip, maybe i will get it then~ LOL

not ideal, but it'll work, as long as get a good canister filter and air pump, decent water change.
sounds like plan, glad my wife doesn't buy fish tank when I'm away.
BTW, I was born in Beijing. also Chinese

there's nothing wrong with buying necessities when the hubby is gone. lol
I bought a larger tank, it's in the same spot, same fish just a little bigger ha ha. had the old one sold the next day. what could he say. I still just have 3 tanks a woman must do what a woman must do

100% agreed!! besides, to be honest, i don't think he will realize.. took him 4 week to realize that i have got 5 new discus last time..


unfortunately, the "pair" started fighting today. they have been fine for over a month now. but this afternoon they fought and hasn't stop since. i guess it's save to say they are not a pair after all?? when i bought them, LFS told me that they were...

any who, more reason to get me a 55 now~~ it's for the fish~~~ not me~~~ BTW, the wild alenquers are the hubby's favorate~
