a lot will be determined by the dsize of the shrimp and the size of the discus and the ammount of cover available. Its a managed risk situion eithor way.

larger - non bite size shrimp like the flower shrimp (bamboo) will stand a much better chance with adult discus vs cherry shrimp. It will also depend on how well fed your discus are

It will also be an animal to animal basis.... i've seen some discus actively hunt cherry and amano shrimp and others completly ignore them!

I doubt that any shrimp would be safe in a discus tank other than bamboo shrimp but even then it would be tricky as they are filter feeders and they need some water current in order to feed and gather food. You could keep smaller shrimp in a more heavily planted discus tank but I doubt that they'd last more than a few weeks before they all become a snack.

Amano and Ghost Glass shrimp do fine with discus in planted tanks.
The others are mostly too small to last very long before they get eaten.
Flower/Bamboo Shrimp haven't done as well for me in warmer water but they also don't actually do anything to contribute to algae control on mosses. Interesting creatures, though.
