Thats true for sure. A lot of times it's just "knowing" you fish, or particular pairs you may have, and altering the conditions or circumstances in your favor. As time goes by and you get more pairs...you will know which ones need to have their eggs screened...which pairs will need to be seperated from the babies...and when. Mistakes are a big part of the learning process. When you get that pair into their own tank...you'll have PLENTY of fry to play with!...Bill

Hey Obby, sorry to hear that man. I have lights here. The only mistake we make in life is the one we dont learn from. Five is a small number. Its borderline that the parents may try again.

well, I now have two pair with eggs and one with swimmers. So three of the four pairs are 'busy'. the most recent pair, The blue diamond and blue leopard put over 300 eggs on the back glass over the weekend. They have since turned an almost solid black color. I am going to segregate them tomorrow, in the center of the tank away from any of the overflow boxes. I just cant get these guys to stop laying eggs!

GRRRR.... that BD was a male then. Your water must be better than mine then haha... He didnt like anyone I had to offer to him. Maybe we can do a trade back. My guess is that the BD BSS wont be a decent cross. Now I do happen to have her old m8 here,,, a real nice RL

I really thought it was a female... If the eggs hatch we will know for sure. The BSS is a female. Live feed looks great btw. really see those little babies flying around.

From what I can see they look pretty nice so far. Any deformities on the fry? I intrested in seeing if maybe overcrowding at a young age could lead to more deformities so this would be a decent test study with so few discus in such a large tank.

Ive seen 2 or 3 that are growing slower then the rest, but no visible deformities so far. just 2 or 3 'runts' that would be on the "Right" side but the 10 that made it on the "Left" side are all about equal in growth with no deformities. They are on day 19.

It must be exciting. Great pictures of the fry and a beautiful planted aquarium. Thanks for sharing.
