What is the most expensive fish you've ever seen (in real life)?? It can be fresh or marine... I'm just curious. Thought this might be fun...
The most expensive fish I've ever seen in person was a Super Red Texas for $300.... but that's just what I've seen.
The most expensive fish that I've ever heard of (myself) is the L46 Pleco for anywhere from $400-$500 each...

The bass looking fish?
I's head is a little more narrow than a bass but has the same size mouth as a large mouth, maybe bigger. They have a black and red or black and yellow pattern on their sides. They are super big too

Here's a photo of a nice Asian arowana I photographed at the 2007 Aquarama show in Singapore, I'm sure this big fish is in the thousands of dollars. (the word balloon is my doing - they don't really speak English! LOL!)What do they look like Eddie?
One reason they are pricey is that they are a CITES listed protected/ endangered species. The Asian arowanas are not the same as the South American type.

Wow! That's a nice fish! I had no idea they were that expensive...
Eddie, do you have a pic of the guy you're talking about?

How about 80k for a fish?

I agree, definitely a winner. But seeing them in person should give some points.
Eddie
Most expensive fish Iv'e seen personally if you consider the size was a hellfriche's Fire Goby (I think it was called) $ 280 maybe an inch long. I know there are a lot more expensive SW fish but I just remember being blown away that something so small was so expensive. Maybe they over priced it. I dont know enough about SW to know.

Funny Walter, we just had an order for Discus from the Atlanta aquarium and because it was 11 boxes a friend drove them down for me. He always wanted to see the "behind the scene" of the aquarium. He got a tour in the quarantine of the Atlanta Aquarium and there they had a tank with I don't know how many of them. Confiscated at the airport,

That does look like it. I just imagined taking that beautiful prized fish home, releasing it into my reef tank, bam he gets swallowed whole.
Hans,
I was just at the Atlanta aquarium and saw that the Discus exhibit is under construction. I was hoping to see some cool biotope or something. Are you supplying fish for the new exhibit?
Scott
Most expensive i've seen in person? ORA Picasso Clownfish. Can get upwards of $600, $700 or $800 per pair.
