I don't know Kath.....I'm thinking that would call for disqualification.

Hi Eddie, just wanted to and never did thank you for sharing your original seafood recipe a while back. I had a few picky eaters including my Altums, that never really attacked their food and I tried a bunch of different recipes. Since making your seafood recipe I have no more picky eaters, my Discus are waiting at the glass when I approach with the food dish every time, they leave nothing un eaten. I can't tell you what a nice feeling it is to watch my Altums gobble food down, a sight I thought I'd never see
    Thank you!

    Hey Eddie,

I was wondering in your recipe is it the salmon/Tuna mix that gives the fish the good growth or do you just use it because you can get it cheap where you are. Where I am Tuna and Salmon both run about $14 per pound. I can get a seafood melody real cheap tho that has several kinds of fish clams, shrimp in it. But I don't want to sacrifice on the growth. Just wondered if you or anybody has done some testing.

    Thankx
    Drew..

Well, I use tuna/salmon for 2 reasons, one because it puts good size on fish and they are extremely healthy. The other because it is cheap for me here, yes. There are other sources of seafood that are equally as good. You have squid, cod, shrimps etc. Basically all you need to do is use the same amount, by weight, when substituting the fish.

You can always go with the standard beefheart as it is much cheaper and it does put size on the fish as well.

If you are gonna throw a prawn in there, you may as well go the distance and make the mix, it just smells like a ton of prawns!

    Hey Eddie,
Since you have pretty much everything for a balanced nutrition in your mix, is this the only thing you feed your discus?

    Another question Eddie.
I'm trying to use up some of the foods that didn't go over well with the fish originally so if you can tell me what you think about these substitutions.

ON prime reef = Omega 1 reef flakes w/garlic
Spectrum pellets - Hikari discus bio gold pellets
freeze dried mysis = freeze dried BW

Do you think with the garlic in the reef flakes I need to add any more?

    Thanks Eddie!!

hey Steve, if you extra dry food then you may be able to throw it into the mix. I use flake and other things(No Im not a closet seafooder)in my mix as do others.
