    Default 210 Filtration

What would you use for a 210 Discus/Planted Show Tank? It's been several years since I've kept freshwater fish. I'd like a fairly heavy fish load 12ish Discus, several tetras, loaches and plecos. I'm not opposed to any filtration, I just don't want to drill the tank.

I like to use the Fluval FX5 for tanks larger than 100 gallons and smaller than 400 gallons. I use it on a 150 and it works great!

    Best wishes!

I have a 180g and also use an FX5 on my tank, but I beefed it up a bit by also running a Cascade 1000 [about the size of an XP4] and I am happy with the filtration. I run an inline heater and my CO2 through the cascade; I have small pore foam prefilters on both intakes and my flow back to the tank is through spray bars for both filters. In an emergency, at least one would still keep going, and when I clean the filters, I do one filter and alternate to clean the other at another time. I am very satisfied with the set up now.
    Best regards,

For a tank that size, I would use a sump.
