    Thanks for the heads up.

Was thinking I'd be better off tearing it apart and gluing it right in
the long run ..... Especially for as kick *** a system as I'm planning for this tank.

Got it all torn apart and re-glued together with Weld-On 16

    Thanks everyone.

    hi- question-
I also have the fluval 305 cannister filter- I am moving up to a larger tank with 1'' bulkheads drilled. I want to hook the cannister up to those bulkheads but am running into trouble figuring out what to use. As I understand it the Fluval takes 5/8'' hose? I can't seem to find the right fittings to go from a 1'' bulkhead to 5/8''. Ideally I wanted to get a 90d elbow (MPT to 5/8'' barb) but I can't find it online. Any ideas? How did you hook up your Fluval? thanks

Intersting w/d and wonderful thought process--I admire your design and envy your skills. The only comment I wanted to add here is that if your water flow through the UV sterilizer is more than about 30g per hour, it's a waste of time to use it, it won't do anything. THe ability of the UV to sterilize the water is completely dependent on the DWELL time factor. A regular hourly turnover for a filtration system on the tank would be far greater and therefore render that equipment useless. Sure don't mean to rain on your parade, but wanted to make certain you knew this. The most effective use for a UV if you feel you actually need it would be to give it it's own independent power source so you can gear it to run water very slowly through the chamber.
Very best regards, a most creative project. Would love to see your in-tank overflow--can you snap one for us?
    Thanks,
    Harriett
