I live about 10 minutes from them and had no idea there were there.
I just called, spoke to one of the owners. She wouldn't tell me who their source was for discus but did confirm they are selling Asian imports.
I plan to go by this weekend and take a look.
Went to Aquatic Wonderland today. . .
I was expecting the usual selection of poor quality/stunted fish LFS are notorious for. The images and videos on the website aren't of the best fish.
I surprised to be very wrong. They seem to focus on flowerhorns for the most part but have a very impressive selection of discus. A very nice Asian couple run the place and they wouldn't tell me exactly who their source was, they did confirm all the discus are imported from Malaysia. Turns out they are wholesalers in the area for years now and recently started doing some retail sales but have no advertising, only word of mouth.
They had a fine selection of leopards, pigeon blood, blues, etc. Very similar selection to what we see posted in the Simply sponsor section by Kenny or CODiscus. Prices were as expected - $35 for most 2.5-3" fish, $80 for most 4-5", $150 for most 6+" fish. They did have some big fish - probably 6-7 discus that were around 7" or bigger TL!
I wasn't real comfortable taking pics without asking, so I only snapped a few poor quality cell phone shots, but I'll be back and hopefully can get more with permission.
Overall I was very impressed with the selection and quality of the discus at Aquatic Wonderland.
2.5-3" Penang Eruptions and Leapords:
4-5" Blues and Pigeon Blood:
This PB was one of the 7" (TL) fish, image doesn't do him justice, he was "darn near eatin size" :
Of course, I couldn't just look at all those great looking fish without bringing a little something back...
2.5" Penang Eruption, still in bag about to be acclimated:
Thanks,

Keep us update with fish from AW. I'm interested how it turn out
Thanks
Just so happens I have one handy Eddie
We plan on going back to at least look around. They have a large selection of Asian products (foods, meds, equipment) that I didn't check out close enough plus the wife REALLY wants one of the the white butterfly they have...
If anyone in the DFW area plans on going, call them first to explain where they are located or PM me - they are literally in a warehouse building behind a very small used car lot, drove right past it the first time.
Thanks,
-jim
I just saw this thread. I live about 10 minutes from Aquatic Wonderland and have bought most of my discus from them and have never been disappointed. Several of the members of the DFW Fishbox just recently did a group buy through them of high quality bettas from their overseas suppliers. The prices and quality are very good. Very nice couple own it. IMO it is one of the best kept secrets in the DFW area. LOL.
That is a very colorfull little guy. Too colorful. It's def juiced. Take good care of him and maybe you won't have any problems, but for future ref, never buy fully spotted 2.5 to 3.5" discus.

I have never ordered discus from there.I have ordered flowerhorns and KK parrots, never have been dissapointed with dealing with david! In fact working on getting a couple more horns from him! Going by what ive got off him already the discus have got to be good as well!
