"No Salt water softeners?"

Anyone know how/if these work? It cosists of a control bax that is hooked up to the electric and a section of pipe in your water line.
I went to there web site but it had no actual softness numbers and no explanation of how it worked. Thanks; Don T.

Don you should look for week acid resins which are recharged with 3-5 % HCl. H ions or protons exchange with ca and mg ions on the activation sites, so there is no cl ions. Should have it in water purifier comšpanies or such.

THEY DONT SOFTEN THE WATER THEY JUST TAKE OUT MINERALS.

Yes; I searched a little and some water experts consider them "snake oil".
I do not need one but I was curious how/if they work. Don T.
