It certainly makes sense in this case, Larry. Keep us posted!

    Eddie,

You may also want to try placing a screen divider in the tank and enclosing all the fry with one of the parents in a very smal area of the tank. This will sometimes force them to attach. Just a thought.

    Hopefully you get attachment!

    Best wishes!

It seems so far that the fry are somewhat attaching and more to Dad than to Mom. Hopefully more to come.

I have no experience with breeding Albinos and this thread is very interesting since I was planning on buying some next shopping spree. There must be an easier way of getting the fry to attach, considering the amount of albinos being sold these days. How do the Asian breeders do it? Color the parents temporarily with waterproof blue food dye before they spawn? LOL, maybe they'd let us in on the trick to it if asked.

From what little I've heard, Asian breeders are either fostering albino fry to other, non-albino, pairs, or are artificially rearing them. It will be interesting to hear what the next day or two brings. As I understand it, as well, pairs with fry produce a different sort of slime.

That's great Eddie. Can you visualy see the fry taking bites from the parents sides? It will look like they are tearing chunks off the way a dog might, with a shake of their heads. They are little savages.

Then it's probably pointless to ask you how many teeth they have, huh?

If mine ever spawn I will sure have to use a magnifying glass to see mouths, teeth and mouthfuls of slime

Update: Lots attaching now. I am doing periodic, minor water changes to keep ammonia levels low. The water level is low as you can see in the pictures, the fish are slightly tilted. This really helped to get the fry to find the parents. As soon as the majority of the fry are attaching, I will begin to raise the water level back to normal.

This pair is a winner! I am actually considering using them to foster raise a non-albino batch if my Heckel X doesn't stop eating the wrigglers!

    Take care,

    Eddie

Albino foster parents, that's really being optimistic but if it works.
Hard to hold your breath that long, waiting for attachment.
Great welcome home gift they give you. Good job Eddie,
