    Default hikari frozen "discus"

Does anyone feed their fish Hikari's frozen "discus" food, in the blue pack? I have never seen any type of fish eat it, discus or not. It looks like little brown turds with a few scrawny bloodworms thrown in. Interesting because on the pack it lists shrimp and squid as the main ingredients with other stuff and vitamins, but no blood worms even though they are clearly there.
    Yuck.

I have never seen it before in any of my LFS's. I think I'll stick with their FBW's, tho I am trying a new brand now, as Hikari just keeps going up in price...Bill

NONE of my fish will touch it! They might pick out the other stuff, but those brown rat turds are a waste of space.

I threw mine out. The fish wouldn't touch it.

i haven't tried the hikari one but i use the Ocean Nutrition discus formula that my discus go crazy over. i have heard other members say that their discus won't touch that either though. i also heard that that item has been discontinued. i bought the last 7 packs they had for $10 each.

I have tryed both the Hikari Frozen Discus Formula and the Ocean Nutrition Frozen Discus Formula and my discus did not care for either!

I found the Ocean Nutrition Frozen Discus Formula to be VERY messy, it disolved into goo, but in fairness I have to admit that I only tryed one pack and maybe I just got a bad batch, there was so much waste to it that I did not want to buy a second pack.

I gave up on it at half of the pack and gave it to my Cousin, He said his baby Angels tore it up though.

Thats insane Ricardo! You need to start making your own mix for that amount. You can use fillet mignon!!!

Fed it to the Discus on display at the store I work at. They don't mind it to be honest, but no one feeds them so they are happy just getting anything . The funny thing is, I don't think they list blood worms in the ingredients.

And my discus turn their noses up at that stuff! Go figure. FBW or live black is what they seem to love....

It's too easy to make your own mix, you know what's in it, it's fresh, hasn't been thawed and refrozen, better and cheaper than packaged.
