I hate to jump into the fray late as it were, without all the facts, but is it possible that your fish had columnaris? (I couldn't tell by this thread whether you had checked out a scraping under the microscope, so forgive me if you had already ruled it out). Columnaris can be airborne.

glad they are doing well now. time will tell..but they look good for now. sorry you had these problems. its always a worry when getting new fish in.
interesting read.
Thanks April, biggest problem for me is that I can't source from only one person. I mean, I can now if I want to but I have to see who is distributing quality fish. Although it is very risky on my part, I have taken some controls so it does not happen in the future.
Take care,
Eddie
All brand spanking new......
When bringing in new fish from different sources, I have been using PP every time. Even if I try not to use a chemical, the fish crash over night. Its all good though, better first off than later down the road.
I have not been using antibiotics unless required and the single most effective one is Furan-2, except the dosage they recommend is 4 times too low. I don't recommend for people to try using more but I do as instructed under vet textbooks.
Sorry to dig the past up .....at what dose do you use life bearer at? seen it att the LFS but just curious..Usually PP does what I need...
