    Default What filters are best

Just wondering what filters would be best for keeping the water crystal clear. I have a fluval canister and an emperor 400 hob and it doesn't seem to keep it clear enough on my 125, even with the water changes I can still see floating debris.

Try placing micron filter pads in your canister. Preferably as the last mechanical before return if possible.

I have used the Magnum H.O.T. filter with the micron cartrigde on my 75 gallon and polishes pretty well.

I find when I add regular old filter floss to my Eheims the water is more clear (not crystal) than when I use just the media that comes with the filter.

The 304 is only rated for up to 70 gals.

I would say the FX5 would do quite well on a 125 gal tank.

Even the 405 is only rated for up to 100 gals.
