"red worms" for food? like the ones used for fishing

so reading and doing searches on the internet mentioned red worms for a solution to live foods, and said that they dont carry any parasites that can effect fish, has anyone ever tried these? and can you mention any pros and cons you may have come across... please and these would be similar to the "night crawler" but small 2-3 inch worms just for reference and to make sure we're talking about the same worm

wow and to think that didnt show up when i did my search for red worms... oh well ill have to read that tonight when i have a few minutes after water changes... thanks
