I can see how this could change the climate but I dont see how a major eruption could cause long term global heating. I can see that anyone too close would get really hot for the rest of their lives but wouldnt it be short term cooling effect for the rest of the planet with ash in the atmosphere?

Didnt Greenland used to be green?

    CLIMATE CHANGE 'FRAUD'

"THE scientific consensus that mankind has caused climate change was rocked yesterday as a leading academic called it a “load of hot air underpinned by fraud”."

It's still disgraceful that the American Main Stream Media is trying to avoid the story. That's almost as scandalous as the fraud perpetrated by those "scientists".

It will cause long term global heating depending on how the supervolcano erupts. This has caused global extinction events in our earths past as it causes runaway greenhouse warming due to the amount of co2 in the atmosphere and acidification of the oceans. Volcanos can erupt in several different ways by different means, and each will have its own effect.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Risks_t...Global_Warming

When the supervolcano at Yellowstone last erupted 640,000 years ago, the magma and ash ejected from the caldera covered most of the United States west of the Mississippi river and part of northeastern Mexico.[29] Another such eruption could threaten civilization. Such an eruption could also release large amounts of gases that could alter the balance of the planet's carbon dioxide and cause a runaway greenhouse effect, or enough pyroclastic debris and other material may be thrown into the atmosphere to partially block out the sun and cause a volcanic winter, as happened in 1816, the Year Without a Summer. Such an eruption may cause the immediate deaths of millions of people several hundred miles from the eruption, and perhaps billions of deaths[30] worldwide due to the failure of the monsoon[citation needed], as well as destruction of the "American breadbasket", causing starvation on a massive scale.[30]

It always amazes me that people pay attention to blogs, youtube and tv commentaries and avoid actually reading the science. I posted this on another thread:
I would like to point out that the Bush administration is being investigated for attempting to censor scientists who have been researching, presenting and writing about the human role in global warming. Fourteen US Senators sought an investigation and Inspectors General for the Commerce Dept. and NASA are now conducting them. Hundreds of scientists report that they have `perceived or experienced’ pressure to alter their reports.
For ex., NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) scientist Tom Knulson was not allowed to speak to reporters in 2005 because he published reports on this topic. Other NOAA scientists reported that Bush administration officials removed references to global warming from their reports.
James Hansen, NASA scientist, was censored as well for presenting a lecture that stressed the need to reduce greenhouse gases.
NASA climatologist Drew Shindell testified before the Committee on House Oversight and Government Reform about how the Bush administration played down the threats relating to global warming. He said: `Virtually all climate scientists believe that the evidence regarding a human role in this warming is clear and compelling. Multiple lines of evidence, based on measurements, theory and modeling, support these conclusions…while it was frustrating to me to see my book suppressed, even more importantly it’s a disservice to the public to distort or suppress information needed.’
The right-wing media implies that it is these scientists who try to suppress this right-wing viewpoint. Yet it is the Bush administration that is attempting to stifle the voice of the scientific community. What does it have to fear? Propaganda can be countered with evidence. Propagandists have no recourse but to silence the opposition.

It seems to me that people pay attention and believe what they want to believe. There clearly has been censorship on both sides of this argument. Try looking up Exelon who has a major stake in cap and trade legislation and how they would profit from "global warming" They have produced quite a number of experts who support global warming theories. wonder why? Also, there is Lord Christopher Monckton a (British scientist) who democrats refused to allow to speak is a congressional global warming hearing last April because Al Gore (Inventor of the internet and lead expert on global warming) didnt want a real scientist to refute his data. Cant just blame it all on the Bush administration. IMO there has clearly been some legitimate questions raised about the legitimacy of some of the scientific data that "proves" man is causing global warming. But, I am not a scientist and ther is no proof. Only want you want to believe. Another example Alan Carlin, a senior analyst at the Environmental Protection Agency, was censored by democrats for expressing doubts about global warming. It goes on and on. I do not feel like giving more examples but there are many if you search for them. Censorship of viewpoints does not prove that there is indeed global warming. Censorship is happening equally on both sides of the argument.

Looks like those global warming fraudsters are starting to turn on one another. It's great watching this scam slowly unfold. Thank goodness for the freedom of the internet.

I don't believe we will ever get everyone to agree one way or another without absolute scientific proof.
It doesn't appear the proof is complete. I remember 30 years ago scientist's were warning of global cooling.
There always been doomsday prophets predicting our demise from the ancient times in Egypt. Now we may have to pay.
All I am sure of is our world just broke an all time record....the biggest collection of hypocrites met in Copenhagen.
I read there were 1,200 limousines, 140 private jets and only 5 electric cars delivering the hypocrites to a meeting
deciding how to control our wasteful lifestyles.
