Hydor if budget allows, but both are good heaters.

I have three hydor heaters, they are supurb. Absolutely consistent. Also, very clean, there's no ugly heater in the tank!

I am thinking about hydor coz it's cool to have heater outside but is it reliable like the jäger heater.

I heard the Hydor is very reliable. If you like the idea of having a heater outside the tank, hydor would be your best bet.

Just be carefull because they can get stuck on pretty easily. Though the designs are always getting better they're still not to the point where I'd use them though.

I do things my way because they work for me sorry if you disagree.

I do like the look of those Roberto, although new yet, they look very promising. Are you using them now?

Does that mean I have to clean the heater once in a while. If that's the case I will go with jäger heater coz I don't want to open and clean and setup whole filter again and again.

FWIW, I've used Stealths, Ebo/Eheim Jagers, discount PennPlax and any number of others over the years with about the same rate of reliability. Low-money option would be the Won heaters from Kens Fish, money-no-object would be the Eheim Jagers.

Ideally if you put them on the return line of your filter it's not an issue but if you don't do lots of filter maintenance it becomes an issue because lots of stuff will build up in them. Also from what I understand if you're using tap water it will most likely pick up lots of mineral deposits. The ones alpine was talking about are nice I know lots of people who swear by them I need to pick up a couple new heaters myself so I'll probably go with those.

If you're running a sump just put your heaters in there if you don't like having them in your tank.

Eddie, I have not used them yet , they are in the boxes. When I sent some for warranty I had the choice of getting the new style . I will post later on about how they do. .
