That was quick! Best of luck Tito, just make sure its not 2 females. Let them get to wrigglers first, before the move.

Oh yea without question. I'm definitely going to wait for wigglers. Good suggestion bud.

I'm so excited. I was reading about your blues and how you just wanted your own homegrowns - now I'm getting a shot at filling my tank with a bunch of home growns of my favorite strain.

Thats excellent man, really good news. The breeding aspect, IMO is the greatest part of the hobby. These beautiful and amazing creatures are on a whole other level when they breed and care for the fry!

    Take care,

Good luck I am jealous. Sorry to kinda derail, but here goes.

So I guess that is stage one when you see them shaking and shimmying, and then they lay eggs.

So for stage two do you just wait and see if they hatch, if they do hatch, do you move to a sep tank to breed?

I am interested, In my sig two of my biggest PB are do the shaking and shimmering but honestly the 90G is crowded and when they do the shaking and shimmering my large BD try's to make it a three way . I need to do some more research to determine the sex. With my PB they all look the same, the rounded back fins, no streamers, etc... but it seems odd that out of 7 they are all females. But with the 2 BD I got from Ed you can def see the dif between the two, one has the long streamers, etc.... sorry to rant but I would love to try and get them to have babies

    Thanks,

    BC

No worries. Perfect place to post your questions.

If they are shaking side by side there is a very good chance you have a male and a female pairing. I have a yellow face red melon female that will not let my male tangerine pair off with any other female. The female melon wants to spawn with him but the tangerine is not interested. So your BD may want to spawn with one of the fish shaking. Give it some time and you should eventually get a pair. Once you see female laying eggs and a male running over the eggs and not laying eggs himself - you know you have a pair. Wait for wigglers and then place then in a breeding tank. I have found by experience that pairs bond better in a community tank so wait for them to bond then seperate them. Seems like a few breeders do this as well from what I've been reading.

Ok so my Red Spotted Leopard pair have been in their own 29 for two weeks now. I should have wigglers when I get home today. I had to wait to really invest time in this pair because we moved into our new place last month and I wanted to make sure I do it right.
Now it's time to see if I can get my 125 filled with these.
