Thanks Vera - yea I am pretty happy Kev. Just got home and the wigglers have been transfered to the sponge uuuggg! LOL

So what should I do? Will the sponge be harmful? Can they resist the small amount of sucking force from the sponge?

    What to do?

The parents have moved the children back to the cone - no worries. All is well in Leopard land.

    Eh, behind the cone.

I've lowered the water down two inches above the sponge filter. Wigglers were kinda getting lost up top and parents weren't able to fetch them from the corners.

Parents must be happy about my decision since they began scooping them up almost immediately.

So far so good. Think I have about 60+.

    Alright. Cool cool cool.

Wigglers are beginning to attach to mom! Keeping an eye on the sponge - I may need to remove it but I'll give them one more day.

So far Im pretty happy since this is first real attempt at surviving and raising fry. And from my favorite strain to boot.

Should I remove the spawning cone and the sponge?

You can remove the cone if you want, it may help to prevent the female from wanting to spawn again. If they are attached, no need to remove the sponge.

Some are attaching - some not. If by tomorrow things remain I think I will reomve the sponge for a day.

    Thanks Eddie.

Freeswimmers have attached. Water level is at the halfway mark in the breeder. Sponge filter removed. When should I begin to increase water level?
When should I put the sponge filter back in?

    Thanks

If they've attached, you can raise the water level at any time. Sponge filter the same, just don't have it pumping too strong.

    COOL

I feel safer with the sponge. Although I agree with the other chap from my neck of the woods - that there is plenty of bacteria on the glass of the tank. That's why the old schoolers always advised against cleaning the glass when doing your scheduled filter maint.
