So I have read many posts about the BB vs Planted...
I happen to be on team planted but none the less the wording at some point in the fight goes "Discus natural living conditions are mud and tree roots... has anyone ever used mud? What type of mud is it? Can it be used? I think it maybe cool, with some areas with sand on top... !?

EDIT: I didn't mean to imply that you should not go planted. By all means. I lve the the I'm agreeing that mud is a really bad idea.

Could he use Mud, if he could also replicate the 100% of the water changing all the time?

From what I've read in Bleher's Discus Vol. 1 and the pics in the same book, the bottoms of the streams and rivers where the discus live are white sand and leaf litter. I think a mud bottom is gonna be a royal pain to maintain, as the others have pointed out.
What are the facts? Again and again and again, what are the facts? ...and to how many decimal places? We navigate always into an unknown future. Facts are our only clue. Robert A. Heinlein
ok, so no mud... so its white sand and dead leaves? Does anyone have pictures of discus in the wild? LOL
Mud was really a hypothetical question... already have sand...
