    Default Nano Cubes

What good size would you recommend for a beginner? I want to get into the salt water fish keeping hobby and I think this is a good way to start! (or is it?)
    Any recommendations?

Actually, the more water the more stable the enviroment, that said, it is a bigger initial investment. A 90 is a great size for its quantity and the width and height, much better then a 55 or so which is very narrow. If money was a concern, as it always is, I'd get a 29 gallon nano cube and start there. Go slow as it take a lot of time for a reef tank to mature, and check out sites like www.nano-reef.com for great info.

A 40 breeder would make a great starter tank as well. Not huge, but not to small and gives you a lot of depth front to back.

If I were starting over i'd go for the 29-40gal range.

That is a great size choice as well. I have had 29, then 55 a 90, now back to 55. I love the 90 but my wife limited the size, and the 29 was a good minimum choice, although the 40 is better. All my reefs have wet/dry filters with refugiums. I use live rock and DSB as the media.

I'm currently looking for a secondhand 29 gallon. They're so expensive lol!

If you think the tank is too expensive, reefing may not be for you.

I guess yeah. I want to start with FOWLR first. Then go up with the corals when I get the hang of it. Maybe in like a year or two.

For my Clownfish I like the Oceanic 30 gallon cubes. I have four now and want 8 of them for my breeding program.
