Default Cube of FDBW keep floating

    Hi All,

Ordered 50G of Mals Freeze Dried Blackworms from a UK rep, and I'm having some troubles on getting them to sink to the bottom of the tank. I squeezed it against the tank wall and lots of air came out, but once my jueveniles pecked it, it floated right up and they got spooked lol.

Would ya think soaking them into warm water would help keep them to stay at the bottom of the tank?

    Any ideas appreciated

A lot of our members have had sucess using an upside down worm cone with the cube inside.

I just let it float, the fish go after it all the same in my tanks.

After squeezing, the cube kind of fell apart and all floated upwards, caused a mess lol. Had to stop the HOB filter (but let the air stone running), and my juvenile discus finally decided to swim upwards and eat all of it

Would be better if it sanked. I might try soaking it into warm water tomorrow night.

Err, unfortunately I don't have those 'conical plastic worm feeder', any other ideas?

I use a veggie clip to attach it and it works great. I will see if i can post a video of mine using it.

Here goes the vid with the veggie clip i use. I have overflows and if I don't use it the FDBW get sucked up

You can pick up the clip at most big box or LFS stores if you want or need them asap or if you can wait i am sure some of the sponsors here carry them or could get them for you. I also have the cones but i find the clips work better for my fish

Unfortunately, the LFS in the place I am located in are sucky and my favorite one moved their branch even further (1hr.30min journey rather than 40min) and it's not worth the hassle to travel there.

Luckily, I know 2 reputable websites that sell these clips/conical plastic feeder, but I don't think its a necessity, I just find it disturbing when my juvenile discus feed off the surface of the water (engulfing air), as I don't want them to have any swim bladder issue.

I'm not too sure, but I think Mal did recommend soaking them first. Hmm.

I use an upside down worm cone .. Works very well for me. The only problem is that the less aggressive fish will not get to eat from the cone.

I press the cube to the side of the glass. key is to keep the cube dry until it hits the water. then press with your finger tip. The cube stays there for a decent amount of time. Works great for babies. The adults can pull it off though. Ed
