Dammm I can't even get a single shot of my fish which is why I have not posted any yet.

When you take pictures what is wrong with them? Blurry? Color? Light?

Do you have a motion or sports setting on the camera? Try that. Also turn on macro mode. Flash will also freeze the subject in the picture making it more clear. If you don't want to use flash, the more light over or on the subject the easier it will be to focus.

Hey Matt,

Your pictures inspire me to try to improve my photography skills. I have a canon Rebel EOS XT camera. What type of lens would you reccomend for macro shots? or is my camera worth buying an expensive macro lens?

Your camera is still a nice one. The Rebel series is still very competative. However, most true macro lenses will be expensive reguardless. The 100mm Macro lens made by Canon is a nice one, and its the one I use. It runs about $500. I know someone else that uses a Tamron 90mm Macro on his Rebel, very nice pictures from it. It runs less then the Canon one by about $50-100 and it might be worth looking into.

Canon makes a 60mm Macro too, and its nice as well, but if you are going to upgrade the camera body in the future i'd look for another other then the 60mm. The lens mount won't work on all of the newer bodies (EF-S). A lot of the newer models are all (EF).
