Default Introducing My New PLANTED CONES!

I've been working at a design for a combo cone and pot in one. Success finally! Now a bare bottom discus tank, so clean and easy to feed and breed with, can have a cone and planter in one. My new design is the same cone with lip as before but now has a planter on the top of it. The pot part holds about a cup of sand or gravel, and has a drainage hole in the bottom so air and water can circulate a bit. A bit of filter material will keep the sand or gravel from falling out.

They are 9" high, and I will make them in swirl or terra cotta to order. $19 each, a real bargain, they take much longer to make. Discus can spawn on the cone part and also right on up the pot part. It is all one smooth unit. When I put 2 into my discus tank they came right up to check them out. I have white sand and Crypts. in both cones. Following are pictures, please let me know what you think of them!

Very creative Barb.... I'll have to order some when I get my new plants from Chad! Do you make rectangular planter boxes too?

Great concept. This is going to be all the rage now. You could probably win David's next tank decorating contest with these.

Thank you for all the kind remarks about my new cones! David, I will get right on a design for a corner planter. Someone else wanted one too and I forgot about making some. Won't be too hard, just need to make the first one!

This is really cool. Can now simulate trees in a sunken forest.
